Food Safety Specialist Asks “How Committed Are You?”

Just about every safety professional would happily admit to being committed to safety. And we’re no different here at SafeStart—everything we do is focused on delivering essential safety skills to as many people at as many companies in as many countries as possible.

But have you ever asked yourself just how committed you actually are to safety? That’s exactly what one safety professional is asking us to do.

Garrett Shelton is a food safety specialist who has recently participated in the SafeStart process and it has motivated him to ask “what does it mean to be committed to safety?” and to examine “the cold hard truth that ‘safe enough’ is not ‘committed to safety.’”

He’s written a full article on the issue of commitment to safety and what it means to be safe 24/7. It’s well worth the read, and we thank Garrett for the timely reminder and would also like to second his challenge that we all consider how we can “show others that just being safe enough is not good enough.”
